In this part of the test, we will assess your English writing skill.
We will use the Writing Tool for this assessment.
The tool is the free version of Grammarly. You can click the button below to get the tool.
Download and install this free version of Grammarly on your computer.
On a phone or tablet, you can also install a free version of Grammarly as a Chrome Extension. However, it is not as good as the desktop version for assessing your writing.
The accompanying video demonstrates how to install and use the Writing Tool.
Below are several questions that you will answer.
As you complete each answer, copy and paste each into the Writing Tool. The tool will show you a score in the upper right corner. It will also underline your mistakes. You can fix your mistakes in the tool and watch your score change.
Please note that this is a free tool with limited capabilities. We strongly encourage you to sign up for one of these two paid writing tools. They are not too expensive and can assist you greatly to become a better English writer. CC

As you finish your answer for each question, open the Writing Tool, copy and paste your answer. In the upper right corner you will see a score for what you have written.
90 – 100 – Very good
70 – 89 – Good
50 – 69 – Needs some work
Below 50 – Needs lots of work
