PASS 1, LISTENING
Instructions:
1. On the Pass 1 page, click on the “Reduced Speed” button and listen.
2. Next, click the “Regular Speed” button and listen to the entire passage again.
3. As you listen you can stop the audio and write down any words that you have trouble understanding or don’t know the meaning of.
4. Then open the WORD TOOL and enter the words to learn the meaning and pronunciation.
PASS 2, READING
• In Pass 2, you will read silently the passage that you just listened to.
• You may read from the presentation or from your workbook.
Use the tools to lookup any words for which you are not sure of the meaning or pronunciation.

PASS 3, SPEAKING
Go to the “Pass 3, Speaking” section of the WORKBOOK, or use the page that follows.
Open the SPEAKING TOOL and copy and past, or type the phrases supplied into the left column of the SPEAKING TOOL. Open voice input on your device, put the cursor in the right column and speak the phrase. Your words should appear in the right column.
Click “COMPARE” at the bottom of the columns and you will see the words that match and those that do not. Practice the phrase until you are satisfied.
PASS 4, UNDERSTANDING
On the next page you will find some questions about what you have heard and read.Go to Pass 4 in the WORKBOOK, or use a blank sheet of paper, and complete the answers.
You will find the suggested correct answers on the past page of your workbook.
If you are using the WORKBOOK, type your answers into the bank spaces after each question.

You will be using your answers in Pass 5.
Please don’t look at the answers until you have completed all the answers.
PASS 5, WRITING
Go to “Pass 5, Writing” in your WORKBOOK. Write 2 to 4 sentence answers to the questions.
Open the WRITING TOOL and paste your answers into the space provided.
The WRITING TOOL will assess the writing in your answers and give you a score in the upper right corner. You can fix your errors and see your score improve.
Repeat using the answers you wrote in Pass 4.
